Sensory Homunculus
Homunculi come in 3 different forms, Sensory, Motor and Sexual. The Sensory Homunculus represents the area of the brain cortex designated to sensory function. The Motor Homunculus shows the area of brain designated to muscle function, and the sexual and Homunculus represents the sexual connection between the body and brain.

The purpose of our Homunculi, is to show 'how the brain sees the body'.  Each of my Homunculus is hand made and sculpted before being hand painted. Each and every little man I make is totally unique.

To make a Homunculus, I start by welding a carbon steel skeleton, the body is then formed around this skeleton. The process involves many stages including; forming, modeling, casting and sculpting.  The little man is then painted and clear coated before glazing his eyes and the finger nails .

As you can see from our rotating Homunculus, all this work is undertaken before the body is attached to the simulated rock base.

At present I have the Sensory Homunculus ready for sale and will shortly be adding both Motor and sexual Homunculus.. Both my  new Homunculi will be made to match and bookend the current Sensory Homunculus.

Our Homunculus are popular with therapists, doctors and neurologists, who recognize that there is no easier way of demonstrating our inbuilt sensory biases. Our Homunculus also function as a interesting and head turning prop that are also unique and fascinating conversation pieces.

A Homunculus is a simple objectification which validates the physical reality of how we sense, feel and so emote with the extrinsic world.
